Manager of the Month - January 2022

A huge congratulations to Bruce Quigley for winning January 2022 Manager of the Month - Bruce has been recognised for his hard work at the Huntley Wharf site in Reading. Bruce gave this project his all - working closely with the client and doing everything he could to push the job forwards in order to hit the all important deadlines! Take a look below at the catch up we had with Bruce about his role at Huntly Wharf, including some of the challenges faced during his time working on site.

What is your role, and can you tell us a bit about the work you completed at Huntley Wharf.

My role is Site manager, overseeing the day to day running of the site. Ensuring all H&S requirements are adhered to along with all the relevant information completed for Berkeley Homes. We were (are just about to complete) the second half of the podium garden on the east block, including 3 different types of paving, soiling up, irrigation, privacy screens and planting.

Did you encounter any problems and how did you combat them?

The biggest problem was space, with very limited storage space we have enlisted a 60 tonne Crane to assist in lifting all materials onto the podium as required over the completed apartments. We completed approximately 150 lifts of soil, plants and paving in 3 days alone!

Anything you would like to say about the site, highlights of this project, special features etc.

It is always great to finish a phase of a project and see the final product. I've been very lucky to have had an amazing team completing this project so hats off to them!
