Elite Completes a Woodland and Pond Revitalisation Project at Our Lady of Peace School

In line with its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Elite has proudly completed the revitalisation of a woodland and pond area at Our Lady of Peace School in Burnham. This project, aimed at transforming an overgrown and unused space into a thriving natural area for students, was met with praise from both the school community and renowned conservationist Steve Backshall. The unveiling of the conservation area was featured i in the Maidenhead Advertiser.

Elite’s contribution has turned this neglected area into a beautiful outdoor space where wildlife can flourish, and students can engage in both play and learning in nature. The project is a prime example of Elite’s commitment to supporting local communities and environmental sustainability through its CSR efforts.

The scope of work included:

  • Clearing overgrown vegetation such as stinging nettles and bramble bushes.

  • Redefining pathways and seating areas for improved accessibility.

  • Removing rubbish and decaying fencing and tables.

  • Clearing the pond of sediment and excess plant growth to restore its natural ecosystem.

  • Engaging professional tree surgeons from Artemis Tree Services to remove two dead trees, lift tree canopies, and create 15 log stools for seating—all generously donated.

  • Spreading bark mulch around pathways and seating areas for added safety and aesthetic appeal.

  • Installing new fencing and a secure gate around the nature pond to ensure student safety.

The revitalised woodland now stands as a vibrant natural space where students can immerse themselves in nature, fostering both learning and play. This initiative also highlights the important role businesses like Elite play in giving back to their communities and ensuring future generations appreciate and engage with the environment.

This project is a testament to Elite’s dedication to making a positive impact on both the community and the environment through meaningful CSR activities.
